Queen's Domain vs King's Field

Yes, the resemblance is deliberate. Both are first-person, slow, and short on dodge and block. Queen's Domain adds the Holy Sword's wind dash, weapon evolution, and a store-page claim of 50-plus melee weapons. It is not a King's Field sequel, and I have no statement that FromSoftware licensed it.

Who will like the difference

Rock Paper Shotgun's line is the cleanest split I found: the game makes you walk so you can learn to fly. If you want a maze you memorize, plus a sword that eventually chains air dashes, the 2026 game is aimed at you. If you want a stamina dodge and a parry, both reviews say you will bounce off the combat.

AltChar calls it a love letter to King's Field and scores it 7/10, with the opening hours as the tax. I am not upgrading that into an official kinship. The developers have not published a licensing note.

Length, side by side

King's Field games are often remembered in a 20 to 30 hour band. That memory is not a figure I verified against a 1994 manual for this page, so I am not putting it in the fact table as a sourced number. Queen's Domain's own clocks stay on the length page: 20-plus for a finish, 40-plus for the full island.

FAQ

Is Queen's Field the same game?

No. 'Queen's Field' shows up as a search variant. The 2026 game's title on every store page is Queen's Domain.

Does it play like a Soulslike?

The reviews say no. There is no dodge and no block. Positioning and the Power Meter do the work.
